MEDICINE BALL ROTATIONAL TOSS

Description

A medicine ball will be utilized to perform this test. The speed of the toss will be measured using a radar gun.   The radar gun will be positioned opposite of the target to clock the mph of the throw. Two attempts will be performed. The top number will be recorded.

Correlation

Rotational power is significant to baseball performance when considering that throwing and hitting are performed in the transverse plane of motion.  Research suggests rotational power has a positive relationship with throwing velocity, bat speed, and batted-ball velocity.
